Empowerment
We don’t exist to fix anyone, but we are here to do life with our community members.
Believe it or not, a small effort towards breaking generational curses and changing the trajectory of families, can look like the following: going back to school to receive a high-school diploma, picking up a trade, getting a driver license, learning job etiquette/skills, and most importantly – embracing all the Creator has called them to be.
There are many reasons people don’t have their High School Diploma. Parents get sick, family hardships, unexpected children, the necessity arises to work to provide for your family. Whatever has happened in the past, SBG is committed to empowering adults to take the step in furthering their education through our High School Diploma program.

Women’s wednesdays
Mothers in our community have experienced many hardships. Loss of a family member, relationship issues, lack of self-worth, and more affect these women and their mental, physical, and spiritual health. That is why we are welcoming these women in on Wednesdays to speak with a Mental Health Professional who helps them acknowledge their fears, dreams, and next steps to discover and become who God has created them to be.
Employment Readiness
Through partnerships with different businesses throughout the city, our employment readiness program prepares residents in the 5020 community for success in their next job by pairing skills like work values, self-worth, etiquette, with hands-on skills like resume building and computer work. We then assist in finding open employment for our residents to apply to.
